HAPPY NEW YEAR!

As we approach the final twenty-four hours of 2014, I find myself reminiscing about the incredible opportunities and many blessings that this past year has brought me. My life has changed immensely this past year, and I am forever grateful for the many new doors that 2014 has opened. Within this year, I was signed an exclusive modeling contract and have had the opportunity to model for magazines such as, American Model Magazine; and companies such as, Universal Studios. In addition to my modeling extravaganzas, I competed for Miss Tampa Bay USA and won. That moment in which my sash was placed over my head will forever be my favorite memory of 2014. There are no words to express the joys that winning Miss Tampa Bay USA has brought me, and I am certain that those same joys will carry into 2015 as I compete for Miss Florida USA. My journey to the crown has only just begun, and I already have so many memories as a titleholder. Within the past couple of months I have been in parades, interviewed on the news, and have attended several citywide appearances to represent the beautiful Bay Area. A few of my favorite appearances include my visit to All Children’s Hospital, singing holiday carols at Metropolitan Ministries, attending the MTV Awards, and hosting the Tampa Bay tree lighting alongside Tampa’s mayor, Bob Buckhorn. My reign as Miss Tampa Bay USA has been nothing short of amazing and it has only just begun. 2015 brings new opportunities, new adventures, and new growth as I look ahead at what is yet to come for me.

As the sun sets on 2014, I want to say thank you one last time. Thank you to my friends, my family, and my fans for supporting me along this incredible journey. If it weren’t for the love and support of those who encourage my dreams, I wouldn’t be where I am today. I am elated to welcome in 2015 and the new opportunities in which it brings with it, because I know that alongside my friends and my family, anything is possible. I thank you all one last time and encourage you all to pursue your dreams no matter how big or small they may be. 2015 could be your year, for you have the power to make all of your dreams come true, so long as you have the courage to pursue them. HAPPY NEW YEAR!

The Joy of Giving: My Visit to All Children's Hospital!

This holiday season I had the privilege of visiting the inpatients at All Children’s Hospital who were too ill to be home with their families. I spent the day traveling alongside one of All Children’s wonderful child life specialists who guided me room-to-room for a visit with each individual patient. Additionally, I made a visit to All Children’s Outpatient Care Center, and stopped to exchange words of thanks to the multiple members of staff working the floors that day. I was even able to score a visit with All Children’s four-legged friend, Mila, the hospitals therapy dog! A typical visit with each patient consisted of conversation and photos with my crown! It was such a heart-warming experience to see the joy in the faces of the little girls who got to wear the crown of a “real” princess! At the end of each visit I signed personal autograph cards for the patients to keep as a momentum from their visit with Miss Tampa Bay USA. My visit to All Children’s Hospital brought joy to not only the patients and staff, but to myself as well. There is no greater joy than the joy of giving and it was an honor to be the reason that a young child smiled during their time of need. It is a blessing to hold the title of Miss Tampa Bay USA because of the difference that I get to make as a titleholder! It was a pleasure to visit All Children’s Hospital, and I cannot wait to return for additional visits to ACH, and to continue making new visits to additional hospitals within the Bay Area. Let us be thankful for our health, and remember those who are not as fortunate to be home with their families.

Happy Holidays to my friends, family, and fans everywhere!
XOXO, Meagan Guerra, Miss Tampa Bay USA
